Developed by Vicente Amorim in collaboration with Ayrton’s family, the series is produced by Fabiano Gullane and Caio Gullane. Spanning six episodes, it is co-directed by Vicente Amorim and Júlia Rezende.

When will Senna be available to stream on Netflix?
In development since 2020, the Netflix series has taken almost three years to finalize its cast and commence filming, which began at the end of 2023. The first trailer was unveiled on April 30, 2024, just a day before the 30th anniversary of the tragic death of the legendary racer.
On July 18, 2024, Netflix officially announced that the series will premiere on Friday, November 29, 2024.
Ayrton Senna’s illustrious career includes winning the prestigious Formula One World Drivers’ Championship three times (1988, 1990, and 1991). He also achieved remarkable milestones, including 41 Grand Prix victories, 65 pole positions, and 80 podium finishes during his 10-year career, which tragically concluded in 1994.
In the series, Ayrton Senna is portrayed by the talented Brazilian actor and musician, Gabriel Leone, known for his role as Guilherme Lovatelli in the telenovela Hidden Truths, and as Alfonso de Portago in the film Ferrari.
Plot summary
The storyline begins in 1981, depicting Ayrton’s move to England to compete in the Formula Ford race, which he eventually wins. The series highlights his major achievements within a decade, showcasing his collaborations with Formula One teams like Lotus, Williams, and McLaren.
Additionally, the six episodes explore Ayrton’s personal relationships, including his complex rivalry with teammate Alain Prost. The series reaches its somber conclusion with Ayrton’s tragic death on May 1, 1994, during the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, at the age of 34.
