NCT’s Doyoung announces solo debut with a full-length album, ‘YOUTH’
On April 4, 2024, NCT member Doyoung announced the highly anticipated details of his first solo album, YOUTH, which will be released on April 22, 2024, at 6 pm KST. The reveal took place at midnight KST.
Along with this announcement came two intriguing teaser images, one showcasing Doyoung’s hand reaching towards the sky and the other capturing the essence of ocean waves.
The translated caption of the post, as provided by Google, states:
“K-pop representative vocalist’ NCT Doyoung makes a surprise solo debut! First album ‘Foam of Youth’ released on April 22nd! Start your solo career in earnest to create a new page for youth!”
YOUTH vows to explore the chaotic world of young emotions, consisting of 10 tracks that capture the ups and downs of early life.
The Korean translation of the album’s title, “youth’s foam,”refers to the transitional and impactful moments that mold one’s early years.
What to Expect from NCT Doyoung’s Highly Anticipated Album, YOUTH
Doyoung intends to use the songs in the album to convey honest accounts of youth, encompassing both its highs and lows.
After Taeyong and Ten, the third member from NCT to begin a solo career is the A Little More singer. Taeyong’s popularity skyrocketed after his solo debut in June 2023 with the mini-album Shalala, making him the first NCT member to officially pursue solo endeavors.
Ten released his self-titled extended play in February 2024, which also included the lead single, Nightwalker.
It is worth mentioning that YOUTH will be available for pre-order at multiple online and offline music retailers beginning April 4, 2024.
Background and Career of NCT’s Doyoung
The singer, known for his hit song Beautiful Day, began his musical career in 2016 as a member of NCT U, a subunit of the popular group NCT.
In addition to participating in group activities, he has also lent his melodious voice to various drama soundtracks. These include Like a Star for Yumi’s Cells and Beautiful Day for Dr. Romantic 3.
His versatility and ability to connect with fellow artists and audiences is showcased through his collaborations, including Fallin’ with Minha Kim and Star Blossom with Sejeong.
He was recently seen at the airport, on his way to Milan to attend the Dal Cuore Alle Mani: Dolce & Gabbana Exhibit.
