Native Steam Deck App for GeForce NOW Launches

NVIDIA Launches GeForce NOW Native Application for Steam Deck

In an exciting development, NVIDIA has announced that the GeForce NOW native application for the Steam Deck, which was initially revealed at CES 2025, is now officially available for download.

Improved User Experience

Previously, gamers could access GeForce NOW through the Steam Deck’s built-in web browser, but this method was far from ideal. The new application simplifies the installation process, allowing users to effortlessly download the app from the official NVIDIA website and follow the installation instructions on their handheld device. Remarkably, NVIDIA claims that utilizing their cloud gaming service can result in battery usage reductions of up to 50% compared to playing games natively on the Steam Deck.

Enhanced Streaming Quality

With the native GeForce NOW app, players now have access to impressive streaming capabilities. The platform supports resolutions of up to 1440p at 120 FPS when connected to a monitor, and 4K at 60 FPS when hooked up to a TV. NVIDIA is committed to continually enhancing the streaming experience and is actively working on introducing new features, including an anticipated support for 90 FPS in a forthcoming update.

Exclusive Features for Premium Users

For premium members—those subscribed to the Performance or Ultimate tiers—GeForce NOW includes HDR10 support. This feature is compatible with the Steam Deck in handheld mode, provided users have the newer OLED model, as the original model lacks HDR10 capabilities. Additionally, subscribers can enjoy cutting-edge graphics enhancements such as ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 4, and Reflex technology on compatible games.

New Additions to GeForce NOW Library

In conjunction with the app launch, today’s GeForce NOW Thursday has introduced six new titles to the expanding library, further enhancing its appeal:

  • Nice Day for Fishing (New release on Steam, May 29)
  • Cash Cleaner Simulator (Steam)
  • Tokyo Xtreme Racer (Steam)
  • The Last Spell (Steam)
  • Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon (Steam)
  • Torque Drift 2 (Epic Games Store)
