After the recent SmackDown event, WWE officially announced another highly anticipated matchup for WrestleMania 40. The team of Naomi, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair will join forces to take on the formidable trio of Damage CTRL.
Naomi took to social media to express her reaction to the addition of the six-woman tag team match to the WrestleMania 40 card. Following the conclusion of WWE SmackDown tonight, General Manager Nick Aldis officially confirmed the match.
The match graphic was shared by the former SmackDown Women’s Champion on Instagram, along with their reaction to the announcement.
“CARGILL, BELAIR & NAOMI vs. #DamageCTRL @Jade_Cargill, @BiancaBelairWWE & @TheTrinity_Fatu will battle @wwe_asuka, @official_kairi & @imkingkota at #WrestleMania XL!”wrote Naomi.
Take a look at Naomi’s Instagram post:
In tonight’s main event on the blue brand show, Bianca Belair emerged victorious over Dakota Kai. Following the match, The Kabuki Warriors launched a surprise attack on Belair, but Naomi quickly came to her aid. Despite being outnumbered, Damage CTRL initially had the upper hand.
Soon after, Cargill leveled the playing field and achieved victory over Damage CTRL all on her own. Earlier that evening, the previous AEW TBS Champion had already made an appearance in front of the WWE Universe after officially joining the blue brand.
Bianca Belair Continues to Show Support for Naomi in the WWE
Ever since the 2022 SummerSlam Premium Live Event, when Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO WeY confronted her after her win against Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair has been in a rivalry with Damage CTRL. She has been familiar with the group since its beginning.
In 2024, Belair has once again found herself in a feud with Damage CTRL, this time with the help of her new ally Naomi. As they make their way towards WrestleMania 40, Bayley is double-crossed by her former stablemates, leaving her in a state of betrayal.
Using Twitter, Belair made it clear to Naomi that she was fully supportive in their ongoing feud against Damage CTRL. The EST stated:
“Sometimes you need those people that can validate your feelings but also get you to see the other side… I heard you @TheTrinity_Fatu and I receive it. I got YOUR back.”
With the addition of the six-woman tag team match, Cargill is confirmed to make her WrestleMania debut. Belair, a past winner of the SmackDown Women’s Title at The Grandest Stage of Them All, will team up with Naomi in an effort to make a powerful statement.
