NanaZip, a well-regarded fork of the popular 7zip archiver tailored for Windows, has recently introduced an upgrade for its latest version, 5.0. This first update, dubbed Update 1, enhances the software with various new functionalities, localization improvements, and essential bug fixes. Users can expect better support for a broader range of file formats, notably in read-only mode, improving workflow and usability.

New Features in NanaZip 5.0 Update 1

The update promises to significantly expand NanaZip’s capabilities, which now include the following features:

  • Added support for. NET Single File Application bundles in read-only mode, although extraction of compressed files within these bundles remains unsupported.
  • Implemented read-only support for Electron Archive (asar) files.
  • Introduced read-only functionality for the ROMFS file system image.
  • Enabled read-only access to ZealFS file system images.
  • Provided read-only support for WebAssembly (WASM) binary files.
  • Started work on littlefs file system image read-only support, currently limited to block information retrieval.
