Waka Flocka Flame Defends His Political Stance Amid Voting Criticism
Juaquin James Malphurs, better known as Waka Flocka Flame, recently addressed criticism relating to his voting record. An active user on X (formerly Twitter) pointed out that despite being registered to vote, the rapper had yet to participate in any elections. This comment sparked a heated response from the artist, who insisted that his vocal support carries more significance than casting a ballot.
On November 5, Waka Flocka Flame took to X to assert the value of his public opinions over his voting actions. In his tweet, he expressed the belief that his voice holds more impact than his vote:
“Keep worry about me not voteN… Y’all mad because i know we second-class citizens…. Idgaf but i pay attention to who [sheep emoji]’n… my voice bigger than my vote… ain’t no punking me!!! Fake Bully’s.”
Ongoing Support for Donald Trump
Throughout the ongoing 2024 U.S. presidential campaign, Waka Flocka Flame has consistently demonstrated his allegiance to Donald Trump. His vocal support was particularly evident in October 2023 when he shared a photo alongside Trump, inciting significant backlash, which prompted a response from the rapper to his detractors.
“I only answer to the people that made me and that’s my fans aka the people… I love y’all with every bone in my body man Squaddd.”
Fast forward to July 2024, and Waka continued to publicly back Trump, asserting that his support was not financially motivated. He stated:
“Trump still my president. I don’t have to stand with a red hat or dance or stage for money in my pockets… this is my choice like I choose not to eat pork, but does that make me hate pork lovers?”
Just a few days before the election on November 2, Waka shared another post with Trump on Instagram, declaring:
“Big T24!!!! If you don’t like me or don’t f with me based off my view then the love was never real… and if you engage in public disrespect I will never go back n forth with you ever… I’m just moving forward…. Just don’t physically touch me.”
Clarifying his motivations, Waka emphasized that he was neither coerced nor compensated for his stance, stating:
“No one made me vote this way or paid me one cent… I chose Trump for my own reasons unlike so many I know, but to each his own. God is the only judge and God knows my heart.”
As of now, Donald Trump has successfully secured victories in key swing states such as North Carolina and Georgia, totaling 267 electoral votes. The Republican candidate requires just three additional votes to reach the threshold of 270 and be declared the 47th president of the United States.
