“My trust expands for all our kids” – Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian on daughter Adira joining sister Olympia in co-owning his sports clubs

Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, recently shared his thoughts on their daughter Adira River becoming a co-owner of his sports clubs, Angel City FC and Los Angeles Golf Club, along with her sister Olympia.

Williams and Ohanian serve as primary investors for Angel City FC, a women’s soccer team located in Los Angeles. Established in 2020, the team competes in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Olympia is already a current part-owner of the club.

The Los Angeles Golf Club was established by the couple last year as part of the TGL golf league. On June 8, 2023, Ohanian made an announcement that his daughter Olympia would be a shareholder at the club, making her the youngest two-team owner in professional sports at the age of five. The American entrepreneur also alluded to the possibility of Olympia’s “future sibling”joining the venture.

“Announcing my fellow co-owner of @wearelagc… @olympiaohanian! Olympia is the youngest owner in professional sports (@weareangelcity) and is now the youngest 2-team owner in professional sports. She’ll be joined by her future sibling,”Ohanian wrote on Instagram.

Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian announced the arrival of their second daughter, Adira, on August 22, 2023. In the aftermath of Adira’s birth, Ohanian confirmed that she now holds shares in both clubs.

On Saturday, March 30, Ohanian used social media to discuss his decision to include all of his children in his trust shares, effectively making Adira a co-owner of the clubs. The Reddit co-founder also announced his plans to expand beyond Angel City FC and LA Golf Club.

“I made sure my trust expands for all of our kids so Adira technically now is as well! And @WeAreLAGC and @weareangelcity won’t be the last…,”Ohanian wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Although Ohanian’s success with Reddit is what he is most known for, he also served as an executive chairman at the social media site. However, in June 2020, he resigned from the board and went on to become the CEO of capital firm Seven Seven Six.

Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, acknowledged that becoming a father contributed to his understanding of the value of empathy in the business world.

During April of last year, Ohanian shared a series of posts on X where he discussed his views on parenthood, self-care, life lessons, and business. He emphasized the impact of children’s distinct perspectives and needs in developing his ability to adapt and empathize.

“First and foremost, being a dad has taught me the importance of empathy in business. Kids have unique perspective and needs, and as a parent, you have to adjust to meet them. This mindset translates directly to understanding your customers and employees,”Ohanian wrote on X.

Like Ohanian, Serena Williams is also heavily involved in her business ventures. As a 23-time Grand Slam champion, she is the co-founder of ‘Will Perform’ and an investor through Serena Ventures. Just last year, she also unveiled Nine Two Six Productions, a multi-media production company.
