HorizonMW Aims to Resurrect the Popular MW2 Mod H2M
A dedicated team of developers has been working on HorizonMW with the objective of resurrecting the MW2 mod H2M. As previously stated, this project is entirely open source, which allows for the distribution and modification of the software without infringing on copyrights.
To run the H2M mod, players need to own a copy of Modern Warfare Remastered on Steam, granting them access to the exciting new features offered by this project.
For those unfamiliar with the recent Activision and H2M controversy, the H2M mod was a well-received mod for Modern Warfare Remastered, created to provide players with a wealth of content requested by the Call of Duty community. This mod introduced an array of weapons, maps, Killstreaks from various titles in the series, and an enhanced leveling system, all for free. The primary requirement was that players must possess a legitimate copy of Modern Warfare Remastered.
The mod served as a rich blend of classic Call of Duty mechanics and content. However, Activision did not appreciate the community’s efforts and issued a cease and desist order against the project, forcing its developers to halt operations immediately. This action elicited a strong backlash from the community, leaving players dissatisfied with Activision’s decision.
Fortunately, the H2M mod has been revived through the open-source project HorizonMW, which promises to deliver everything that the H2M mod represented, and more, as the project continues to evolve over time.
