After a preview at Computex, MSI has officially launched its fastest gaming monitor yet, the MPG 242R X60N. This model is aimed at gamers seeking peak performance and has been detailed on MSI’s dedicated product page.
The MPG 242R X60N marks MSI’s first entry into the 600Hz gaming monitor market, providing an exceptional gameplay experience for dedicated gamers. While achieving 600 frames per second (FPS) is a challenge, it could be a game-changer for those with high-end rigs capable of such performance in competitive eSports titles. Equipped with a Rapid TN panel, this monitor delivers a much faster response compared to many budget-oriented high-refresh-rate monitors that utilize Rapid IPS technology.
Unmatched Speed and Responsiveness
One of the standout features of the MPG 242R X60N is its astonishingly low 0.1ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time, nearly ten times faster than typical IPS panels. With a 24.1-inch screen and Full HD (1080p) resolution, this monitor is particularly designed for professional eSports players, granting them the decisive edge needed to outmaneuver their opponents. While it may not offer the immersive entertainment experience favored by casual gamers, it’s a significant leap forward from older TN panels.

It’s noteworthy that the current leader in refresh rates is ASUS’s ROG Strix ACE XG248Q5G, capable of reaching up to 610Hz.
