Introducing MSI’s Latest QD-OLED Gaming Monitors: Enhanced EOTF Boost Support
Recently, MSI announced an exciting enhancement to its QD-OLED gaming monitors, introducing the EOTF Boost feature aimed at elevating brightness levels across its OLED lineup. This development, revealed last month, promises to provide a significant boost to the visual experience.

According to MSI, the EOTF Boost technology allows for brightness levels to reach up to 1000 nits, significantly surpassing the typical HDR 1000 modes. This enhancement is realized while maintaining the same Average Picture Level (APL) conditions, making it ideal for users looking for enhanced brightness in their viewing experiences. Insights shared from Monitor’s Unboxed, a channel associated with Hardware Unboxed, indicated that EOTF Boost not only addresses the brightness limitations of QD-OLEDs but also enhances clarity for both gaming and everyday use.

MSI’s latest monitors featuring this innovative EOTF Boost as a “Factory”option include:
- MAG 322UP QD-OLED E16
- MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50
- MAG 271QP QD-OLED X28
- MAG 272QPW QD-OLED X28
- Future Models

Beyond these new models, MSI has confirmed that its existing QD-OLED monitors will also be upgraded to support EOTF Boost via a firmware update expected to roll out this month. Once the update is applied, users will be able to access this feature through a new HDR mode in the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
In conjunction with the EOTF Boost announcement, MSI is running a promotional discount on several QD-OLED monitors in China, offering users up to 100 RMB off select models featured in the pricing chart below:
