The new MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 delivers impressive features tailored for gamers, all at a budget-friendly price point. Unlike its high-end counterpart, the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50, this model has a more modest refresh rate.
MSI Unveils MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 for $420: A 1440p Display with 240Hz Refresh Rate, 0.03ms Response Time, and Up to 400 Nits Brightness
Renowned for its innovative hardware, MSI has recently added to its lineup with the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24, a mid-range gaming monitor that doesn’t compromise on quality. Aimed at gamers who may not afford a premium OLED monitor priced close to $1000, this model offers compelling features while maintaining affordability.

According to reports from IT Home, the MAG 272QP retains the same 1440p resolution and utilizes a QD-OLED panel just like its X50 counterpart. Key specifications including connectivity options and ergonomic design are also similar. However, a notable difference is the refresh rate: the X24 features a maximum of 240Hz compared to the X50’s remarkable 500Hz. For most competitive gamers, this reduced refresh rate still represents a strong option within the high-end category, especially given its mid-range pricing.

Although the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 has a slightly reduced brightness level—offering 200 Nits in SDR mode and peaking at 400 Nits in HDR mode—it remains competitive, even if it is 100 Nits lower than the X50 across both settings. This display boasts a remarkable 1.5M:1 contrast ratio for deep blacks, along with an ultra-fast 0.03ms GtG response time, ensuring rapid frame transitions. Additionally, it covers a vast color spectrum, achieving 98% Adobe RGB, 99% DCI-P3, and 138% sRGB, maintaining the same color fidelity enjoyed in the X50, complete with true 10-bit color depth for vibrant and diverse visuals.

Due to its reduced refresh rate, the MAG 272QP enables uncompressed visuals through HDMI 2.1 ports, and it is also equipped with a DP 1.4 connection that supports 8-bit encoding. This provision allows for better compatibility, especially when considering that the more premium X50 variant was restricted by not having DP 2.1 UHBR20. Given these factors, the X24 provides a practical option for gamers seeking performance at an attractive price of 2, 999 Yuan in China, approximately $420 USD for international buyers.

The MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24 is currently on sale at JD for a competitive price of 2, 299 Yuan or around $322 for Plus members.
