Unveiling the MSI B760MPOWER: A Focus on Overclocking and DDR5 Support

After reviving the MPOWER series last year, known for its outstanding overclocking features, MSI continues to innovate. The B760MPOWER follows on the heels of the Z790MPOWER, an economical Z790 mATX motherboard equipped with remarkable 8000+ MT/s memory boundaries and an external BLCK generator. Recently, the introduction of the B850MPOWER for AMD systems showcased MSI’s commitment across platform lines. Now, they are returning to Intel with the B760MPOWER, designed for the LGA 1700 CPU socket.

The new MSI B760MPOWER is positioned as an mATX motherboard compatible with Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake, 13th Gen Raptor Lake, and the forthcoming 14th Gen Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs. Despite its budget-friendly design, this motherboard features impressive power delivery, along with dual 8-pin connectors for CPU power. With a projected retail price of less than $200, it’s expected to be a popular choice among budget-conscious gamers and PC builders.

In terms of specifications, the B760MPOWER is equipped with two DIMM slots that support up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory, achieving speeds of 8000 MT/s or more. One of its standout features is the integration of an external BLCK generator, which is designed to enhance overclocking experiences significantly. The motherboard also includes a variety of expansion slots: 1 PCIe 5.0×16, 1 PCIe 4.0×4, and 1 PCIe 3.0 x1 slot, alongside two M.2 Gen4x4 slots and six SATA III ports, catering to diverse storage needs.

The I/O capabilities of the B760MPOWER are extensive, comprising 1 USB Type-C port (20 Gbps), 4 USB 10 Gbps ports (3 Type-A + 1 Type-C), 2 USB 5 Gbps (Type-A), and 8 USB 2.0 ports. It also features a 2.5GbE LAN port and an 8-channel audio jack, ensuring connectivity and audio performance. Notably, one of the Gen4 M.2 slots is protected beneath an M.2 Shield Frozr heatsink, while the VRM benefits from an extended heatsink design for improved thermal management. Once again, MSI appears to offer a solid and budget-friendly choice for enthusiasts eager to push the limits of their LGA 1700 systems.

Further updates regarding the availability and official launch of the MSI B760MPOWER are anticipated soon.
