“Most Satisfying Elimination” — Survivor Season 47 Fans Celebrate Rome’s Vote Out

The latest episode of Survivor Season 47 premiered on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, and delivered an unexpected twist when cast member Rome was blindsided and eliminated from the game. Known for his strategic confidence and understanding of his competitors’ gameplay, Rome’s plans unraveled as he became the primary target of his tribe, despite his attempts to rally support against his opponents.

The castaways grew increasingly frustrated with Rome’s disruptive behavior and his ability to sow discord among the group through misleading narratives. In this episode, Rome tried to frame Kyle as the mastermind behind the conspiracy by claiming he was bad-mouthing Caroline and Sue. Additionally, he informed Tiyana and Sam that they were being targeted by Kyle, hoping to sow mistrust. However, Kyle countered these accusations during a tribal council, clarifying that Rome was distorting the truth.

Following the pre-merge challenge, the contestants collectively agreed to oust Rome, fed up with his penchant for creating tension within their ranks. Although Kyle secured immunity, Rome hastily shifted his focus to Sol in a desperate effort to shift the target away from himself, but this maneuver ultimately failed. As a result, he was sent packing with six votes against him.

Fans of Survivor took to X to express their delight at Rome’s eviction, showcasing the public’s relief and satisfaction with the outcome.

“What a satisfying elimination! Rome was truly a villain who didn’t need to progress any further,”one viewer commented.

“That tribal council was so enjoyable. Good riddance, Rome,”another user tweeted.

“BYE BYE ROME!!!!”a viewer exclaimed.

The general consensus among Survivor’s fanbase was one of jubilation regarding Rome’s departure. Many felt his overconfidence led him to neglect the dynamics of social gameplay, ultimately sealing his fate.

“He totally lacks social awareness! His inflated ego prevented him from considering he could be voted out. Just unreal,”a user expressed.

“Finally, that annoying Rome has been eliminated from #survivor. I was tempted to stop watching the season altogether!”another fan remarked.

“Rome… whew! If he were my colleague, I might just quit. No way I could handle a know-it-all like that every day,”another fan wrote.

“Rome getting voted out of #Survivor right before the merge was the fitting end he deserved! He was just too insufferable! Good riddance,”a user tweeted.

Many other viewers shared similar sentiments, expressing their dissatisfaction with his tactics.

“I can finally enjoy the season again! Sorry, not sorry! Rome was incredibly annoying to me!”one user reacted.

“Rome has finally fallen! He was too overwhelming and would never have survived the merge. Even if he had a chance, Saul was against him, and Kyle’s immunity just derailed his strategy,”another participant commented.

What led to Rome’s elimination from Survivor Season 47?

In this latest installment of Survivor, members of the Gata and Lavo tribes were instructed to gather their belongings and relocate to Tuku for the impending merge round. Upon reaching their new camp, the players began to strategize and search for alliances.

Rome took a proactive approach, seeking to gather intel from the other tribes. He questioned Sue about Caroline’s plans regarding the Amulet and gathered that Kyle identified Sam and Tiyana as major threats, while suggesting that Caroline and Sue were socially struggling.

He relayed this information to Sue, aiming to underscore his trustworthiness over Kyle. Moreover, Rome shared his insights with Sam and Tiyana regarding Kyle’s admissions. Eventually, Tiyana confronted Sol and Andy to verify Rome’s claims, leading Sol to comment, “That’s just a classic Rome move.”Later, in Rome’s absence, Kyle disclosed to the group that Rome was misinterpreting his statements in an attempt to discredit him.

During the pre-merge challenge, Rome teamed up with Caroline, Andy, Gabe, Tiyana, and Sol on the blue team. They performed admirably and won a meal reward. Kyle, on the other hand, triumphed in an individual challenge, securing his immunity. Subsequently, the blue team decided unanimously to target Rome at the feast. In response, Rome attempted to shift focus to Sol, knowing Kyle was safe, and used emotional manipulation with Caroline and Tiyana to label Sol as a bold competitor. Despite his intense efforts, Genevieve remained steadfast in keeping Rome as their top target. Thus, Rome ended up getting booted from the competition.

Survivor Season 47 can be watched every Wednesday at 8 PM ET, exclusively on CBS.
