Exciting Updates: Monster Hunter Wilds Trailer Reveals Fan-Favorite Monsters
Capcom has recently unveiled a thrilling trailer for the much-anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds. This new installment features the formidable elder dragon Gore Magala, alongside the returning Nerscylla, and introduces an entirely new creature known as Hirabami. The trailer premiered during the Capcom Spotlight event, which also announced an upcoming Open Beta Test that allows players the chance to battle the Arkveld.
Gore Magala’s Dramatic Comeback
The highly-anticipated return of Gore Magala was showcased in a dramatic teaser at the trailer’s conclusion, where it launches an attack on a group of hunters. Originally the flagship monster in Monster Hunter 4, fans are eagerly awaiting more details on whether its iconic Frenzy Virus mechanic and its adult form, Shagaru Magala, will reappear in this installment.
Discovering New Terrains: Iceshard Cliffs
The latest trailer offers a glimpse of the new environment named Iceshard Cliffs, a snow-covered mountainous region promising unique challenges and adventures. This location is reported to be home to the Hirabami, a new monster that demonstrates pack mentality similar to the Doshaguma.

Open Beta Test and Release Date
In line with previous announcements, Capcom will host a second Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds, with the first of two sessions kicking off on February 6, 2025. Enthusiasts can mark their calendars, as the game is set to launch on February 28, 2025, across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X platforms.
