Monster Hunter Wilds Guide: Obtaining Dalthydon Wool

Dalthydon Wool serves as a unique and valuable crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds. Unlike conventional monster parts acquired through hunting, this material must be obtained through specific trading methods. Players seeking to create wearable items that incorporate Dalthydon Wool should be aware of its importance, especially when attempting to discover hidden armor sets throughout the game.

To acquire Dalthydon Wool, players must engage in trading with specific NPCs. You can find Gawdygog at the Wudwud Hideout or Kilama in Kunafa. After meeting them, you will need to speak with Nata by your base camp tent post Chapter 3 of the main story to browse their inventories.

Both traders offer an assortment of items drawn randomly from their unique pools. Notably, Kilama and Gawdygog are the sole traders who sometimes provide Sinister Cloth. Thus, scouting their stocks regularly is essential for collectible enthusiasts.

Resetting Trader Inventory

To refresh the inventory of the traders, players must return to their tent and select the Rest option. This feature allows you to fast-forward time, choosing a season and time of day, after which you can return to check for new offerings from Nata or the traders.

Do note that while Gawdygog consistently requests Ancient Wyvern Coins for his trades, Kilama may require either Fine Windward Aloe or Pure Fulgurite. These items are typically found during Emergence events at Windward Plains, so be vigilant and check the Environment Overview screen or wait for notifications to locate them.

Uses of Dalthydon Wool

MH Wilds Kunafaa set

Dalthydon Wool is integral to crafting the Kunafa armor set, along with Talioth Scale and other materials. The Kunafa set is notable for providing substantial protection against Thunder, along with minimal resistance to other elements. The armor skills associated with this set include:

  • Rally Stick 4
  • Wide-Range 4
  • Speed Eating 2
  • Free Meal 2

This armor set focuses more on player comfort during hunts. Skills like Speed Eating and Free Meal enhance potion efficiency, while Palico Rally boosts your Palico’s damage output during encounters. While Wide Range can benefit players engaged in cooperative play, its effectiveness diminishes in solo missions.
