Monster Hunter Wilds Guide: Locations to Find Rex

Monster Hunter Wilds Guide: Locations to Find Rex

Upon completing the main storyline of Monster Hunter Wilds, players will discover that the true adventure begins at this stage. At this point, your Hunter Rank is fully unlocked, granting you the freedom to elevate it further, but be prepared to undertake numerous hunts and side quests to achieve this goal.

While participating in hunts is a straightforward approach to boosting your Hunter Rank, side quests offer the dual benefit of monster slaying and additional experience points. These quests culminate in rewarding encounters with various NPCs, including Rex, who presents a particularly beneficial side quest. Let’s delve into his location and spawning details.

To find Rex, head to the area known as Suja, Peaks of Accord. This location is the last area you unlock during the main game and becomes accessible following most events in Wyveria, just before confronting the game’s final monster. Initially, on your first visit to Suja, Rex will be absent as you need to complete the base storyline.

Arriving in Suja suggests that you’re roughly one to two hours away from completing the game. Following this, the Guild Master will embark on a journey to the Forbidden Lands to assist your team with investigations. After this event, Rex will join the group of armored guards escorting the Guild Master to this area and will remain in Suja post-escort. You can locate Rex on the left side of your tent in Suja, as indicated on your map, and you will fast travel directly to his location.

Rex’s Quest: As Gatekeeper

Rex’s quest, known as As Gatekeeper, is typical of endgame challenges and involves battling formidable monsters in the arena-like environment of Wounded Hollow. This area unlocks as a consequence of completing endgame story missions. In this quest, you’ll face the daunting task of taking on two Ajarakans simultaneously, leading to a chaotic combat scenario. To manage this effectively, utilize your Slinger to raise the gate, which helps isolate the two monsters, allowing you to concentrate your efforts on defeating one at a time.

Given that Ajarakans are known for their fire attacks, it is crucial to equip armor that offers strong fire resistance. Additionally, be wary of using fire-type weapons, as these creatures have resistance to fire damage. Instead, consider bringing weapons that deliver ice or water damage, tapping into their weaknesses, particularly when targeting wounded areas.
