CAPCOM Celebrates Major Milestone with Monster Hunter Wilds Sales
This morning, CAPCOM proudly announced that Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved a remarkable sales milestone, surpassing 10 million units sold across all platforms within its first month. This record-breaking achievement marks a significant moment in the company’s history, setting a new standard for initial sales.
Success Following Major Franchises
The success of Monster Hunter Wilds comes as no surprise, especially considering the franchise’s previous hits.Monster Hunter World sold approximately 21.30 million units, while Monster Hunter Rise reached around 16.70 million units. These titles hold the top two spots in CAPCOM’s all-time sales rankings, and early indications suggest that Monster Hunter Wilds could soon follow in their footsteps.
Upcoming Content Enhancements
CAPCOM has exciting plans to support the ongoing popularity of Monster Hunter Wilds with a series of updates. The first of these, a free update, is set to launch this Friday and will introduce the elusive monster, Mizutsune, available for hunting starting at Hunter Rank 21. For those at Hunter Rank 41 and above, a more challenging variation, Tempered Mizutsune, will also enter the game environment.
Diverse Questing Options
With Title Update 1, players can look forward to new quest types, including:
- Arena Quests
- Challenge Quests (temporary event quests)
- Free Challenge Quests (also temporary)
Arena Quests and Challenge Quests are designed for up to two players using predefined equipment. In contrast, Free Challenge Quests allow up to four players and feature no equipment restrictions. Players can take on these quests solo, team up in cross-platform multiplayer, or enlist the help of support hunters. Completing quests quickly can earn players a position on the Expedition Record Board and various rewards, including special pendants.
Special Event Quests on the Horizon
New Event Quests will continually refresh the Quest Board, providing opportunities to earn unique armor, rapidly increase Hunter ranks, gather cooking ingredients, and much more. The upcoming event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, will take place from April 23 to May 7.
