In an exciting move to celebrate the upcoming launch of Monster Hunter Wilds, Niantic and Capcom have announced the second phase of the crossover event for Monster Hunter Now. Originally released in 2023, Monster Hunter Now offers players a unique gaming experience by integrating real-world navigation to engage with Capcom’s iconic monsters. The game’s maps refresh every 24 hours, featuring diverse terrains, multiple weapon types, and a variety of monster avatars.
Monster Hunter Wilds is anticipated to be the next flagship title in the beloved series, slated for release on February 28, 2025. This game will build on the legacy of Monster Hunter: World (2018) and has just wrapped up its lengthy open beta, providing players with a taste of what to expect in the rich Forbidden Lands environment.
To kick off season five of Monster Hunter Now, players can look forward to the introduction of the Chatacabra on the same day Monster Hunter Wilds launches. This marks the monster’s debut in Wilds, and players will have the opportunity to engage with it within the mobile game, which emphasizes cooperative and competitive gameplay. Back in January, the initial phase of the crossover event was announced, detailing various ways players can earn rewards, such as gift codes redeemable for in-game items like Mega Potions and Energy Drinks.
Expanded Benefits in the Crossover Event
“Spring into action with SEASON 5! Spring is fast approaching and with it, a new season in #MHNow – The Blossoming Blade! You won’t want to miss epic updates, including Glavenus and Arzuros’ debut!” — Monster Hunter Now (@MH_Now_EN) February 18, 2025
This season will not only welcome the Chatacabra, but also the highly-anticipated return of Arzuros and Glavenus, another fan-favorite creature that was teased during prior game expansions. These inclusions are part of a broader plan to enhance gameplay through various weapon type alterations and the introduction of new mechanics, including a material trading system that promises to elevate player engagement further. The franchise has garnered excitement from fans eager to dive into the new content, particularly regarding Glavenus’s return.

As the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds approaches, the team has already outlined post-launch content plans, which include the highly-anticipated spring 2025 Free Title Update. This update will introduce the serpentine leviathan Mizutsune to the Forbidden Lands, known for its elegant but deadly attack patterns and unique gameplay strategy involving mobility-linked bubbles. Furthermore, players can look forward to Event Quests being added shortly after the game’s launch, ensuring a consistent flow of content to explore.
