Minecraft’s new Oozing potion makes slime farming easy

The upcoming 1.21 update for Minecraft is expected to introduce new status effects from its beta versions. One of these effects, called Oozing, will greatly benefit slime farming. This effect can be used in the brewing of potions and tipped arrows. When an entity with the Oozing effect is killed, it will spawn two slimes in the surrounding area, allowing for slimes to spawn without meeting their usual requirements.

The use of Oozing splash potions in Minecraft allows players to easily transform their existing mob farms into slime farms. When the mobs in the farm are splashed with Oozing, any killed will now spawn slimes, providing players with more experience orbs and item drops. As a result, the Oozing effect has greatly impacted the way players approach slime farming.

In Minecraft, it is common for players to search for specific world chunks, known as slime chunks, or a swamp biome in order to create traditional slime farms. These locations are ideal for spawning slimes, as the phase of the moon plays a role in the number of slimes that appear at night. However, with a sufficient supply of Oozing splash potions, any mob farm can be transformed into a slime farm by applying the potions to the spawned mobs.

Moreover, you can use the slime balls obtained from farming slimes to create more slime blocks and Oozing potions, as they are made by brewing a slime block with an awkward potion. Additionally, you have the option to craft Oozing tipped arrows and with the help of the Piercing/Multishot enchantment, you can continuously farm slimes with just one tipped arrow.

In the past, players had to rely on either slime chunks or the phase of the moon to successfully farm slimes in Minecraft. However, with the introduction of Oozing arrows and potions, it is now possible to farm slimes infinitely without the need for a specific slime farm. While using the Oozing effect on regular mob farms may not be as effective as traditional slime farms, it is still a viable option.

The Oozing effect has the added benefit of working on slime mobs, increasing the productivity of slime farms in Minecraft. By utilizing a dispenser or other means to automatically apply Oozing splash potions to your slime farm, you can greatly improve its productivity beyond its previous capabilities.

Moreover, in addition to all of this, as Oozing potions necessitate slime blocks for their brewing, you will consistently have an excess of slime balls to create additional slime blocks and potions. Admittedly, the brewing of these potions requires gunpowder to convert them into Oozing splash potions, but that can easily be remedied by constructing a creeper farm. In conclusion, the Oozing effect proves to be a beneficial addition for slime farming in the 1.21 update and beyond.
