Mojang has introduced resin alongside the Pale Garden biome and the Creaking mob in the Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.25 beta/preview update. Though this resource wasn’t highlighted at their annual event, it swiftly made an appearance in the latest beta version. Resin boasts several distinct characteristics, including the ability to add a fresh color to all armor trims.
This guide outlines everything you need to know about acquiring and utilizing resin with armor trims in Minecraft.
Applying Resin to Armor Trims in Minecraft
How to Acquire Resin
To collect resin in Minecraft, players must first understand its mechanics. This new item can only be found in Pale Gardens at night. As a Creaking mob appears under the cover of darkness, players need to hit it several times. This action causes the mob to draw energy from a heart block nestled deep within pale oak trees. As a result, when the creature extracts energy, resin clumps will form on nearby pale oak logs.
Players can gather these resin clumps by breaking them with any tool or even their hands.
Using Resin Clumps with Armor Trims
Once you’ve collected resin clumps, you can use them to add unique colors to your armor trims. Visit a smithing table and combine your resin clumps with the armor piece you want to modify, along with any chosen armor trim smithing template. After placing all three items, you’ll see your new orange-colored armor trim design in the smithing table interface.
If the design meets your approval, simply retrieve the modified armor piece and equip it. The vivid orange hue of the resin will enhance the appearance of most armor sets, particularly netherite armor, which can resemble molten lava flowing across it.
Additional Uses for Resin
Beyond its function as a dye for armor trims, resin clumps can also be smelted in a furnace to create resin bricks. These bricks can then be fashioned into an array of building materials, such as slabs, stairs, and walls. Thus, resin introduces a novel building block type to the world of Minecraft.
