Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem Update Unveils New Underwater Mount with Unique Advantages

Minecraft Live Announcement: Dive into the Mounts of Mayhem Update

The highly anticipated latest edition of Minecraft Live has concluded, bringing exciting revelations about the upcoming major update titled “Mounts of Mayhem.”True to Mojang’s promise, this update introduces a thrilling way for players to explore the ocean depths without concern for air supply.

Introducing the Nautilus: A New Underwater Companion

At the heart of this update is the Nautilus, a captivating new mount that resides in the ocean’s depths. These fascinating underwater mobs can be tamed by players using pufferfish. Once tamed, the Nautilus can be equipped with a saddle, allowing players to ride it across the water. Notably, the Nautilus features a dash ability for swift navigation and can even perform small jumps above the surface.

For those concerned about their Nautilus’s safety, players can equip various types of armor—copper, iron, gold, diamond, or even Netherite—to protect their newfound friend.

Breath of the Nautilus: Endless Exploration Awaits

The Nautilus brings a unique advantage with its special ability called the ‘Breath of the Nautilus.’ This feature effectively pauses the player’s breath meter while riding, granting a virtually unlimited time to explore the ocean depths. However, players should remain cautious, as Mojang has also confirmed the existence of zombie Nautiluses. These dreadful creatures will be ridden by the Drowned, posing a threat to unsuspecting players underwater.

New Weapons and Zombie Additions

In addition to the Nautilus, Mojang introduced a new weapon: the Spear. Constructed with two sticks and an ingot, the spear features both a jab and a charged attack capability. The charged attack has a unique advantage of knocking enemies off their mounts, making it particularly effective in mounted combat.

Furthermore, the update will also see the introduction of Zombie Horses into Survival mode. Once exclusive to Creative mode, these hostile mobs will now be available for players to encounter, riding spears while launching swift attacks against unsuspecting players. Like their undead counterparts, these Zombie Horses will also suffer damage from sunlight.

What’s Next for Minecraft Players

This initial announcement marks just the beginning of the Mounts of Mayhem update. Historically, Mojang has surprised its players with additional features leading up to each major content release. Therefore, more enticing content may be unveiled as the release date approaches.

Players can expect to test the Mounts of Mayhem update soon through the Bedrock Edition preview and Java Edition snapshots. The widespread release is projected before 2026, ensuring that the entire Minecraft community can benefit from these thrilling new additions.
