Mojang Studios has unveiled an exciting pre-release snapshot for the upcoming Minecraft version 1.21.2, featuring the Bundles of Bravery. Additionally, the studio has rolled out an update for their official launcher, which includes several minor visual and technical enhancements. This launcher supports both Java and Bedrock Editions, and now features a revamped opening screen along with a more prominent left panel.
Here are the key updates regarding the changes implemented in the Minecraft Launcher.
Updates to the Minecraft Launcher ahead of Bundles of Bravery release
Revamped opening screen
Previously, launching the Minecraft launcher would direct players to a loading screen featuring an armadillo traversing the savanna biome. While this loading animation remains in the latest version, it has been preceded by a new static image.
Upon launching the application, players will first encounter a large creeper logo overlaid with the Minecraft title. In the bottom right corner, a loading notification will appear before the scene transitions to the familiar armadillo loading screen.
Since the armadillo loading screen was introduced during the 1.20.5 Armored Paws update, it may potentially evolve once more with the launch of the Bundles of Bravery.
Enhanced button visibility on the Minecraft Launcher
Another update to the Minecraft launcher includes a significant redesign of the left-side panel. Previously, the panel lacked clear differentiation between the various games developed by Mojang Studios. Now, distinct buttons for each title have been introduced, allowing players to quickly identify their selected game. Additionally, the buttons have been resized slightly smaller for improved aesthetics.
The home button has also been reimagined, now featuring a sleek outline instead of a filled design.
Finally, the home page, which is the first button on the left panel, has undergone visual enhancements. The upper section containing the recent worlds and dropdown menus for Java Edition versions has been updated with more prominent buttons for easier navigation.
