The Atlanta Hawks faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks once again this weekend. Following their victory over the top-seeded Boston Celtics on Thursday, the Hawks aimed to continue their winning streak against Milwaukee.
In the opening quarter, Khris Middleton proved to be a formidable opponent for the Hawks, scoring 12 points and causing significant damage. Joining Middleton in his impressive performance were Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis, who also contributed six points each.
Despite scoring 44 points in his previous game, Dejounte Murray continued to shine on Saturday by contributing 11 points in the first quarter, matching Middleton’s energy. Unfortunately, his performance was not sufficient to secure the lead, as the Bucks ultimately won the first quarter 33-28.
In the second quarter, Milwaukee was able to increase their advantage to 14 points with a 59-45 score at the end of the first half.
In the second period, the “Greek Freak”emerged and achieved an early-game double-double with a total of 15 points and 10 rebounds in the first half.
Antetokounmpo was also a force on defense, making a couple of steals to disrupt Atlanta’s offense.
Murray’s pace decreased slightly and he was unable to respond to Giannis’ progress in the second quarter.
Luckily for the Hawks, Bogdan Bogdanovic’s performance in the second quarter helped them stay competitive as he scored eight points. Without his contributions, the Bucks may have extended their lead.
