Mike Florio expresses “no faith” in Aaron Rodgers’ Jets, warns season could be derailed without draft reinforcements
In the past, Aaron Rodgers alone was enough to impress NFL analysts with a nine-win season. However, in 2024, the Jets front office will need to work together as a cohesive unit to achieve this goal. This was suggested by NFL analyst Mike Florio during Friday’s episode of “Pro Football Talk”.
During the program, the analyst discussed a number of predictions about the league’s teams, prefacing his analysis by suggesting that the upcoming NFL Draft could potentially alter the landscape for many teams.
“You could get lucky, or it could all blow up in your face based upon what a team does or doesn’t do in the draft,”Florio said. [00:00:36] [11.9]
Despite this, the analyst painted a grim outlook for the Jets’ upcoming season which is still far off.

Mike Florio: “[00:02:06] The Jets are a mess. I have no faith in them going over nine and a half. ‘Oh, Aaron Rodgers is going to be back.’ For more than four snaps? I’m taking the under on the Jets. [00:02:17]”[10.6] PFT
Aaron Rodgers on the Road to Redemption: From Rock Bottom to the Top
When considering the expectations of a professional athlete for a season, their biggest concern is experiencing a performance similar to Aaron Rodgers’ in 2023. The quarterback only played four plays and ended his season without any touchdowns, interceptions, yards, or completions.
Despite his passer rating of 39.6, the quarterback’s brief performance only accelerated his downward trend, further solidifying his position at the bottom.
In 2020, the Green Bay Packers’ No. 12 quarterback threw an impressive 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions, resulting in a 121.5 passer rating. However, in 2021, his performance declined in all areas. By the end of the season, he had thrown for 37 touchdowns and just four interceptions, earning a 111.9 passer rating.
In his last year with the Packers in 2022, his statistics once again saw a decline with 26 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and a 91.1 passer rating. As for 2023, it can be considered a reset year and the former quarterback of the Green Bay Packers only needs to complete one pass to technically show improvement.
Despite this, the New York Jets fans, players, and coaches have extremely high expectations. With their quarterback now being over 40 years old, the team may only have one chance left to give their fans a truly unforgettable season for all the right reasons.
Will Aaron Rodgers have one final opportunity to shine in the sun?
