Upcoming End of Support for Windows 11 Version 23H2
Microsoft is set to conclude support for Windows 10 next week, which has dominated recent discussions. However, it’s essential not to overlook that some versions of Windows 11 will also face similar consequences in the near future. In an effort to alert users, Microsoft has issued a reminder that individuals operating on Windows 11 version 23H2 have a mere 30 days left of support. This notice prompts users to consider upgrading to a more current version.
Details on Windows 11 Version 23H2 End of Support
The Windows Health Dashboard has been updated with a notice regarding the impending end of support for version 23H2. This version is set to receive its final servicing update on November 11, 2025, a date that marks the end of support for consumer editions such as Home and Professional. While these updates will cease on the specified date, commercial editions will continue to receive updates for an additional year.
Upgrade Recommendations from Microsoft
In light of these developments, Microsoft strongly recommends that users of Windows 11 version 23H2 upgrade to a newer version, specifically versions 24H2 or 25H2. Although transitioning to these versions may take some time due to their belonging to a new servicing branch, the benefits of a more modern operating system include enhanced features and extended support.
Currently, Windows 11 version 25H2 is gradually rolling out to users, although opting for version 24H2 will yield similar improvements. Notably, version 24H2 includes all updates and enhancements found in version 25H2, aligning closely with the features of version 23H2, which is similar to version 22H2.
Stay Updated and Consider Your Options
Typically, Microsoft initiates automatic updates for Windows 11 as users near the end of their current version’s support phase. Therefore, if you are still using version 23H2, it is advisable to navigate to Settings > Windows Update
to check for available updates.
As the tech landscape continues to evolve, staying updated not only ensures better security but also allows users to access the latest features and functionalities offered by Microsoft.
