The Microsoft Go series of laptops has been well received so far. They may not reach the highest level of performance in their form factors, but usually offer good value for money. With the Surface Laptop Go 2, Microsoft will continue this trend.
With the new Surface Laptop Go 2, Microsoft promises to deliver all the goodies of the first model, adding an improved processor and webcam, longer battery life, and improved thermal performance. Based on the minimalist design of its predecessor, the laptop will be available in Platinum, Blue, Sandstone and Sage.
The new laptop will be available in four configurations (RAM/ROM): 4GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 16GB/256GB. All of them will be equipped with 4C/8T Intel Core i5-1135G7 and equipped with a 12.4-inch screen with a resolution of 1536×1024 (3:2 aspect ratio). Apart from the new chip, Microsoft also claims that the battery life has been increased by 30 minutes, from 13 to 13.5 hours, and the webcam has been replaced with a better one, although the resolution (720p) has remained the same.
Weighing 1.1 kg, the laptop is light enough to travel with it wherever you go. The Surface Laptop Go 2 is now available for sale starting at £529 / €679 / $599 for the 4GB / 128GB model. Microsoft will start shipping its latest laptops on June 7th.
