New Features for Xbox Insiders: Play History and Cloud Play Enhancements
Microsoft is introducing two exciting features for Xbox Insiders as part of its latest update, enhancing the user experience across both PC and Xbox platforms. The standout addition is the new Play History feature, which allows players to track their gaming activity across all Xbox-supported devices simultaneously.
Introducing Play History
The Play History feature can be accessed via a new tile located at the end of the “Jump Back In”list. This functionality provides a comprehensive view of all the games a player has recently engaged with, regardless of whether they played on an Xbox console, a Windows PC, or a handheld device. This marks a significant upgrade over previous gaming history tracking methods.
“No matter the device, your progress, preferences, and play moments are always just a tap away – be it continuing a late-night session on your laptop, sneaking in a quick match on your handheld, or diving deep on your console, Xbox makes it effortless to stay connected to the games you love, ”states Lily Wang, Xbox Experiences Product Manager, in a recent blog post.
This innovation not only facilitates a smoother gaming transition between devices but also enhances the Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming experiences, making it simpler for players to pick up where they left off, no matter which Xbox platform they are using.
Enhanced Cloud Gaming Access
In addition to the Play History feature, Microsoft is also refining its cloud gaming capabilities. Xbox Insiders who are part of the PC Gaming Preview can now easily identify which of their owned games and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate titles are available for cloud play. This feature allows players to quickly find cloud-compatible games in their library.
To access this new filter, users simply navigate to the Library section within the Xbox PC app and select the Cloud-Playable option located under the sorting menu. This list includes Xbox games that may not have been available on PC, such as titles from the Xbox, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles, ensuring players have easy access to their favorite games.
It’s worth noting that this update follows the introduction of the ‘Stream Your Own Game’ feature, which was launched earlier this month, further enhancing the Xbox Insiders’ gaming experience on PC.
