Microsoft has officially unveiled a fresh iteration of the Microsoft Store for both Windows 10 and 11 users. This update is being made available to all participants in the Windows Insider Program. This significant update brings a redesigned appearance to the app and game pages, enhancing the overall user experience.
As noted by Microsoft in a recent blog post, the changes to the app and game pages are quite noteworthy:
A new addition to the product pages is an immersive experience that is now featured at the top of each page. For those apps and games that include trailers, users can watch them while exploring their individual pages. Conversely, products that do not have trailers will showcase stunning hero images supplied by their developers. Additionally, users can manage video autoplay settings in the Store’s preferences.
This new product page feature will start rolling out with Microsoft Store version 22409 or later, and is accessible in both light and dark themes. It will also be made available to non-Insiders shortly thereafter.
Developers are encouraged to enhance their Microsoft Store app listings by incorporating immersive trailers and hero images into their entries.
For Windows Insiders, the Microsoft Store is designed to update automatically; however, users can manually check for the latest version by navigating to the Downloads section and clicking the “Get updates”button.
This marks the second update to the Microsoft Store that Insiders can test this October. Earlier this month, the store introduced a slightly redesigned homepage for Canary and Dev Insiders, showcasing an improved interface for app and game categories.
