In a recent update, Microsoft has enhanced the System > About section with the introduction of Spec Cards, which summarize essential details about a computer’s primary components including the processor, memory, storage, graphics card, and video memory. This update is set to improve user experience by facilitating easier access to device specifications.

The latest preview builds rolling out within the Dev and Beta Channels feature a new “Your device info”card prominently located on the Home page of the Settings app. This card provides succinct information such as the processor type and speed, graphics card details including video memory, as well as RAM and storage capacity. For those who desire deeper insights, a direct link to the “About”section is included, where users can find more comprehensive information including the Windows edition, product ID, and a newly launched FAQ section dedicated to addressing common hardware queries.
User Experience and Feedback
The addition of the “Your device info”card aims to streamline users’ interactions with the Settings app by reducing the number of clicks needed to access important device information. However, feedback has been mixed among users.
