Expansion of Xbox Design Lab to 27 Countries via ESW Partnership
In a significant move to enhance player personalization, Microsoft’s Xbox Design Lab is now available in 27 additional countries through a collaboration with the e-commerce platform ESW. This expansion follows an eight-month period during which the Xbox Design Lab website was offline, rejuvenating interest and excitement among gamers.
New Global Accessibility
The revised reach of Xbox Design Lab encompasses a diverse array of regions, including key markets in North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific. Some of the newly serviced countries include:

- United States
- Australia
- Japan
- South Korea
- Singapore
- Denmark
- Germany
- Italy
- United Kingdom
Personalization Features and Limitations
Launched in 2016, Xbox Design Lab allows gamers to take control of their gaming experience by customizing a variety of controller components. Users can select colors, styles, and finishes for elements such as cases and buttons on both the standard and Elite Wireless Controllers. However, it is important for customers to note that changes cannot be made post-order, and returned customized controllers are not accepted.
New Aesthetics and Themed Controllers
Microsoft continues to innovate in the controller design realm, regularly unveiling themed controllers that cater to gaming culture, including recent releases inspired by popular titles like Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2.
A Milestone Relaunch
After an extended hiatus, Xbox Design Lab was successfully relaunched in early August 2023. Tejaswi Kotekar, the product manager of Xbox Design Lab, commented on the partnership with ESW, stating, “This relaunch marks a major milestone for Xbox Design Lab. We needed a merchant of record that would provide a high level of customer service and product road map. ESW’s agility and support were critical in helping us to achieve our goals.”

ESW has developed a fully integrated checkout system for Xbox Design Lab, enhancing the customer experience and streamlining payment processing. Furthermore, there are plans to introduce additional payment options in the near future.
