    • This update includes several quality improvements aimed at enhancing the overall user experience for insiders utilizing this build on their devices.

  • Taskbar Enhancements
    • Fixed a bug that made it possible to see a duplicated preview thumbnail when minimizing an app and switching between desktops.
  • Display and Graphics Fixes
    • Corrected an issue that led to HDR unexpectedly disabling immediately after activation in the Settings menu.
  • Additional Fixes
    • Addressed a problem in Event Viewer for some users that displayed an error message stating, “The ‘Microsoft Pluton Cryptographic Provider’ provider was not loaded due to initialization failure” with error code 57 post-boot.

Known Issues to Note

  • General
    • [IMPORTANT] Some Insiders may encounter a rollback while attempting to install this build, resulting in error codes 0xC1900101-0x20017 or 0xC1900101-0x30017. A retry will also lead to another rollback. Microsoft is actively working on a solution.
    • [NEW] A fix is underway for an issue that causes bugchecks (commonly referred to as green screens) with error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in the latest Canary builds for Insiders using Arm64 PCs.
  • For Developers
    • PIX on Windows is currently unable to playback GPU captures in this OS version. A new PIX update is expected by the end of September. If you are affected, please use the “Send Feedback” button in PIX or reach out via the DirectX Discord server for assistance with private builds.
  • Graphics Issues
    • Investigations are ongoing regarding screen flickering experienced by some Insiders, particularly when using the web browser or in other scenarios within the latest Canary builds.
  • Audio Problems
    • Some users in the Canary Channel have reported audio issues indicated by a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager for devices such as “ACPI Audio Compositor.” This could signal driver problems. If you encounter this issue, follow these steps:
      • Right-click on the affected device in Device Manager and select “Update driver”.
      • Choose “Browse my computer for drivers”, then select “Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer”.
      • Select the most recent driver from the list and click “Next”.If a list of common hardware types appears, this device may not be associated with the issue.
      • Ideally, the device should now operate normally without a yellow exclamation mark. However, if it persists, it may not relate to this issue.
      • Repeat the process for any other devices showing a yellow exclamation mark.
