Removal of Upgrade Block for Windows 11 24H2

In a significant move, Microsoft announced that it will soon lift the upgrade block for the Windows 11 version 24H2 feature update. This block was previously implemented under safeguard hold ID 54762729, aimed at preventing complications associated with USB scanning, printing, and network devices such as modems. For context, Microsoft had acknowledged that functionality for switching from USB to eSCL mode was experiencing issues.

Timing and Process for Update Rollout

As with previous updates, it’s important to note that the rollout of the Windows 11 24H2 update may take up to two days—approximately 48 hours—before it becomes available via the Windows Update page. Users eager to accelerate this process can try restarting their devices after installing the most recent updates.
