Microsoft Launches Bing Video Creator: A New Era of Video Generation
Two years back, Microsoft made waves with the launch of Bing Image Creator, a pioneering service that let users generate images from text using OpenAI’s DALL-E model. Today, the company is building on that legacy by introducing Bing Video Creator, a new tool powered by OpenAI’s Sora that allows users to create videos simply by entering text prompts.
Limitations of Current AI Video Tools
While OpenAI announced Sora last year, the technology has not been widely accessible due to significant AI infrastructure demands. Currently, it is exclusively available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers, which come with a hefty price tag of approximately $200 per month.
In contrast, Google recently launched its own video generation model, Veo 3, which reportedly outperforms OpenAI’s Sora. Veo 3 is available to all Gemini paid subscribers for just $20 a month, making video generation far more accessible.
Free Access to Video Creation for All
Responding to the competitive landscape, Microsoft is democratizing video creation by making Bing Video Creator freely available to all Bing users. The service is rolling out globally, with the exception of China and Russia, and will soon be accessible on the Bing desktop through the Copilot Search feature.
User-Friendly Features of Bing Video Creator
Bing Video Creator offers users options between Fast and Standard generation speeds. Each user can create up to 10 videos using the Fast option at no cost. After reaching this threshold, users can either use 100 Microsoft Rewards points for additional Fast creations or switch to Standard speeds for their video generation.

To utilize the Video Creator function, simply download the Bing mobile app and follow these straightforward steps:
- Open the app and select “Video Creator”from the menu in the bottom right corner.

Current Specifications and Future Updates
According to Microsoft, videos created with Bing Video Creator will currently be 5 seconds long and formatted in 9:16 aspect ratio. However, the company has plans to introduce a 16:9 option soon. Users can queue up to two videos while waiting for others to be completed, optimizing their workflow.
Once Bing Video Creator rolls out to desktop users, you will be able to visit Bing.com/create for both your image and video creation needs.
