Microsoft Unveils Windows 11 Version 25H2: What You Need to Know

Microsoft had implemented safeguard holds to prevent the installation of Windows 11 24H2 on certain devices facing compatibility problems.
Dirac Audio Bug and Its Impact on Users
A notable instance of this was a bug affecting Dirac Audio devices. Since December of the previous year, Microsoft has withheld the update for affected systems. Although an update was supplied in March 2025, the safeguard hold persisted.
This issue primarily impacted Bluetooth audio devices utilizing Dirac technology—similar to solutions offered by Dolby and DTS—which are known for features like sound optimization, calibration, and room correction. The incompatibility rendered many devices unusable.
Resolution and Driver Update
Recently, Microsoft announced that a new driver addressing the Dirac Audio issues has been released through the Windows Update channel. With this update, the compatibility hold has now been lifted. Notably, this marks the second major upgrade block to be resolved within the same month.
