Windows 11, designed with productivity in mind, has been critiqued for its numerous prompts and notifications that can interrupt a user’s workflow. One particularly annoying feature is the Second-Chance Out-Of-Box Experience (SCOOBE), which users encounter upon logging in. This feature restricts access to the desktop until all prompts are navigated, which can be frustrating. For those setting up Windows 11, it’s highly advisable to disable SCOOBE immediately. Now, users can quickly accept or decline all offers with just one click, using the options “Accept All”or “Keep Current Settings.”While the latter option may not be immediately obvious—consistent with Microsoft’s occasionally opaque design choices—it’s certainly more accessible compared to previous upgrade prompts cluttered with buttons that are more favorable to Microsoft.

Some Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels will see a refreshed SCOOBE screen (Second Chance Out of Box Experience) for reviewing recommended settings on your PC. This redesigned screen is meant to be more intuitive and streamlined, allowing you to choose the recommended settings you want for your PC without having to navigate through multiple setup screens.
Managing SCOOBE Visibility
It’s worth noting that SCOOBE tends to appear more frequently on systems configured with local accounts or those utilizing the oobe\bypassnro command. Nonetheless, it can also affect devices that log in through Microsoft accounts. For anyone looking to avoid encountering SCOOBE, users can disable it by navigating to Settings > System > Notifications > Additional Settings and toggling off all three relevant options.
