At the Ignite 2024 conference, Microsoft unveiled its latest hardware innovation, the Windows 365 Link. Although not tailored for everyday consumers, this intriguing mini PC-like device aims to enhance the experience for businesses utilizing cloud-based computing. The Windows 365 Link facilitates seamless access to the Windows 365 service, which allows users to operate a Windows PC powered by the cloud, streamed directly to their local machines.
Purpose-Built for Cloud Computing
Designed specifically to optimize the Windows 365 experience, the Windows 365 Link operates without a local version of Windows. This device promises users a responsive desktop experience characterized by features such as
- Instant wake from sleep mode
- Fast boot times, powering on in mere seconds
- Local video processing capabilities for applications like Microsoft Teams
Connecting with Multifunctionality
The Windows 365 Link offers impressive connectivity options, allowing users to hook up to two 4K monitors via HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. Additionally, it includes:
- Four USB ports (three Type-A and one Type-C)
- An audio jack
- One Ethernet port
- Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity

The Windows 365 Link is currently available in preview mode, with a planned official launch slated for April 2025 in select markets. Initial pricing is set at $349.
