Microsoft Expands Features for Copilot in Sales

Microsoft Expands Features for Copilot in Sales

In February, Microsoft launched its Copilot for Sales service, empowering sales professionals with generative AI capabilities that simplify their work routines. Since its General Availability (GA) release, Microsoft has enhanced Copilot for Sales by adding several features, including a swift method for users to share email summaries created in Outlook during Teams meetings.

This week, Microsoft revealed even more enhancements and features that are being rolled out to Copilot for Sales users. According to a blog post, one significant improvement aims to streamline the experience for first-time users.

Previously, first-time users accessing Copilot for Sales via their Teams app were required to log into their CRM (Customer Relationship Management) through Outlook. Now, sales professionals using Dynamics or Salesforce for their CRM will encounter an upgraded experience when signing into Copilot for Sales through the Teams personal app:

  • Dynamics users will be automatically signed into an environment, even if they haven’t signed in before (similar to the rules in Outlook), and they can easily confirm or change their environment! Additionally, those with multiple environments will have the ability to switch environments without having to sign out.
  • Salesforce users can sign in directly to any of their environments from the Teams Personal App.

Another notable feature rollout includes Actionable Message Bannersstrong>. Available in the Outlook application, Microsoft explained:

When users check emails from external clients, these banners will present contextual prompts that steer sellers towards performing essential actions directly through Copilot for Sales. This includes adding new contacts, handling leads, and archiving emails to the CRM, all designed to assist sellers in staying organized and saving precious time.

These new banners are set to appear on two external emails for each Copilot for Sales user daily.
