Are you aware that the Windows Game Bar includes a built-in browsing feature? Dubbed Edge Game Assist, this tool allows players to access online content without interrupting their gameplay. Officially launched to the public in May 2025, Microsoft continues to enhance this feature through regular updates that expand game compatibility, introduce new functionalities, and address bugs. The most recent update, rolling out to Insiders, adds support for additional games, unveils a minor new capability, and importantly, resolves a significant bug.

New Features and Fixes from Recent Updates

In addition to enhanced game support, developers have also improved user experience through new options and bug resolutions. Notably, users now have the capability to close Game Assist via the Settings and More menu. Additionally, a critical issue where Game Assist would reinstall itself on systems with multiple Windows user accounts has been successfully addressed. The changes introduced in this update are as follows:

  • Introduced an option to close Game Assist from the Settings and more (…) menu.
  • Fixed a bug causing Game Assist to automatically reinstall on certain PCs with multiple user accounts, with this fix currently available for Insiders and coming soon for all users.
  • General bug fixes, usability enhancements, and improvements to accessibility.
