Microsoft Enhances Edge with New Dev Channel Update

Microsoft has unveiled a new feature update for Edge Insiders in the Dev Channel, specifically version 135.0.3154.3. This update comes packed with a series of fixes that not only enhance browser stability but also introduce noteworthy features, such as the display of the active tab within collapsed tab groups.

Changelog Highlights

Added Features:

  • Enhancement allowing active tabs to be displayed in collapsed groups.

Improvements:

  • Fixed a silent crash issue when attempting to leave a workspace.
  • Addressed crashes occurring during content searches from the address bar on Android devices.

Behavior Changes:

  • Rectified an issue preventing the ‘Show Vision experience from Copilot Labs’ option from appearing in the Copilot settings.
  • Resolved visibility problems with toolbar icons post-action within the ‘More Options’ menu on split-screen mode.
  • Ensured that custom colors now persist after browser relaunch in the color picker for tab groups.

iOS Specific Fixes:

  • Fixed loading issues for top sites with custom letter icons on the ‘Replace’ panel on iOS.
  • Corrected flashing issues when switching from Focus/Inspirational mode to Custom mode on iOS.
  • Resolved wallpaper inconsistencies where the New Tab Page wallpaper did not update after changing wallpapers on iOS.

Mac Updates:

  • Fixed data import issues where selecting Firefox resulted in Safari data being displayed on Mac.

Android Improvements:

  • Ensured that top site images display correctly on the ‘Replace’ panel, even without an internet connection on Android.
  • Resolved issues where extensions could not show their full panel in normal tabs on Android.
  • Corrected a visual glitch with a line appearing between the PDF toolbar and address bar
