Microsoft Edge Dev 132 Released with Profile Enhancements and Crash Fixes

The latest version of Microsoft Edge, version 132, has been launched in the Dev Channel. This initial update (version 132.0.2917.0) introduces enhancements for user profiles, addresses multiple crash-related bugs, fixes problems with the New Tab Page, and includes several other improvements.

New Features:

  • The profile settings page in WebUI2 now displays synchronization status within the profile details section.

Behavioral Improvements:

  • An issue causing the browser to crash on iOS when an image was long-pressed to move, then released, has been fixed.
  • A crash that occurred on browser relaunch after closing both the main and guest profiles has been resolved.
  • Addressed a crash issue that would arise on Android devices when returning to the New Tab Page (NTP) after saving logs.

Changes Made:

  • An issue where icons were truncated in the browser uninstall dialog has been corrected.
  • Feeds now maintain their previous browsing position after returning to the New Tab Page (NTP).
  • A minor layout issue causing the wallpaper to shrink when sliding on the New Tab Page (NTP) for the first time has been resolved.
  • Fixed layout inconsistencies with group headers under tab groups.
  • Button sizes in the top row of the tab center have been standardized.

For Android:

  • Fixed an issue where the Workspace failed to close when a link was opened in the browser on Android.
  • Corrected a transition problem with the ‘Add to Home’ page between landscape and portrait orientations on Android devices.

For iOS:

  • An issue where feedback from iOS users lacked automatic URL information has been resolved.
  • Margins for PDF toolbar icons on iOS have been fixed.
  • Corrected capitalization of the initial letters in ‘Online PDF Toolbar’ within the edge://flags settings on iOS.
  • The ‘Close’ button is now available in the video player after selecting ‘Drop’ from the overflow menu on iOS.
  • An issue that caused the ‘Send to devices’ function to display an unresponsive ‘Sign in’ panel on iOS has been corrected.
  • Improved the browser’s ability to open or search for images through the context menu in online documents on iOS.
