Microsoft Edge 129 Update Removes CryptoWallet and Changes OS Requirements

The latest version of Microsoft Edge, Edge 129, is now available in the Stable Channel. This significant feature release brings various enhancements, updates to the operating system requirements, security improvements, and more. Notably, the widely discussed CryptoWallet feature has been deprecated, and users on macOS will need to have version 11.0 or newer to continue receiving updates.

Fixes

• Updated policies now support wildcards. The documentation for the following policies has been corrected: ImagesAllowedForUrls, ImagesBlockedForUrls, InsecureContentAllowedForUrls, InsecureContentBlockedForUrls, PopupsAllowedForUrls, and PopupsBlockedForUrls can now utilize wildcards (*) in their URL patterns.

Feature updates

• Change in supported operating systems for Microsoft Edge. The minimum requirement for macOS has been raised to version 11. Users with older macOS systems will no longer receive updates for Microsoft Edge. For additional details, refer to Microsoft Edge Supported Operating Systems.
• Deprecation of the CryptoWallet feature. In an effort to enhance the user experience, the CryptoWallet feature and the related CryptoWalletEnabled policy have been deprecated. The CryptoWalletEnabled policy is expected to be obsolete in a future release.
