Microsoft is pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence integration with the latest enhancements to its Copilot feature. This update includes a sophisticated memory management capability and the highly anticipated ability to pin conversations, which users have been eagerly requesting. Additionally, Copilot on macOS is set to receive significant improvements, aligning it more closely with the Windows version.
Recent observations from Windows Latest indicate that the updated Copilot can now accommodate text inputs exceeding 10, 240 characters. This functionality allows users to paste extensive text directly, which Microsoft automatically converts into a manageable text file, reminiscent of features found in Claude. Furthermore, the web version of Copilot can summarize lengthy group chats, effectively transforming them into organized pages, allowing for the creation of detailed itineraries from discussions about group trips.
“This idea came directly from Satya Nadella, who’s been using Copilot for his own group chats, ” Microsoft stated.
Pinned Conversations in Copilot
Among the noteworthy updates is the introduction of pinned conversations, designed to simplify access to important discussions.“Pin your favorite chats & keep them right at the top of your list, ” Microsoft announced, cautioning users that the rollout will occur progressively, and availability might differ across users.
Enhanced Long-term Memory Capabilities
With competition heating up, Copilot joins other AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini in offering memory features. Users can enable memory to facilitate contextually aware conversations that reference previous interactions. However, Copilot’s memory function has lacked depth compared to ChatGPT, which comprehensively recalls a user’s past chats. Fortunately, Microsoft is now testing an advanced memory feature, significantly expanding Copilot’s retention capabilities.
“Copilot’s memory just got smarter, making memory feel more transparent & in your control. We’ve made big improvements to how Copilot remembers what matters, ” Microsoft confirmed. This enhancement allows it to recall details from prior conversations more effectively.
Additionally, users will have the ability to manage their memories via the Settings menu or directly request Copilot to retain or delete specific information. While it remains uncertain if Copilot will retrieve the very first chat with Bing, Microsoft assures that such capabilities are on the way.
The rollout of this advanced memory support is currently taking place in phases, starting in the United States.
Major Upgrades for macOS and iOS Users
Copilot’s upgrade for macOS promises to introduce a host of new features that align it with the Windows 11 experience. Users can expect functionalities such as Podcasts, Imagine, a user-friendly Library, advanced Connectors, a Search mode in the composer, Read Aloud capabilities, smarter notifications, and the ability to export content to various formats including PDFs, Word, PPT, or Excel. Microsoft emphasizes that these updates foster a more synchronized experience across platforms.
For iOS users, a new widget is being introduced to facilitate seamless access to Copilot features. This widget comes in two sizes, enhancing user engagement with the application by allowing quick access to key actions.

Moreover, Windows Latest has reported that the web version of Copilot is set to deploy a myriad of new features, including a “Real talk personality” as well as testing generative video support powered by Sora, capable of producing audio clips lasting up to eight seconds.
