The newly redesigned Copilot showcases a fresh, modern, and sleek user interface, making it more user-friendly than ever before. As illustrated in the accompanying screenshot, the revamped homepage includes informative blocks to assist users and introduces a floating text box at the bottom for inputting queries and retrieving past interactions. While the main features of Copilot remain intact, this design upgrade fosters a more streamlined and intuitive user experience.
Copilot now accommodates both light (“Day”) and dark (“Night”) themes, catering to users’ personal preferences. Users can engage with Copilot in multiple ways: by entering text prompts, uploading images along with descriptions, or even utilizing voice commands.
In terms of voice commands, Copilot introduces four unique voices:
- Meadow
- Wave
- Grove
- Canyon
These diverse voices significantly enhance the user experience, particularly with the launch of the innovative “Copilot Daily”feature.
Copilot Daily is a cutting-edge, voice-activated feature that leverages AI to provide personalized daily updates. It begins with general information and transitions to delivering the latest news from well-known sources, such as Reuters. Users can click on the news source to access the full article for more details. The feature wraps up with a friendly message: “Thanks for tuning in today, see you again tomorrow,”all within a quick 5-minute timeframe, making it an engaging way for users to stay informed. Microsoft envisions this as a daily habit for users seeking a quick news digest, potentially establishing it as a pivotal feature that keeps users coming back.
Earlier this year, Microsoft formed a new AI division under the leadership of Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of Inflection AI. The newly redesigned Copilot appears to be a product of this team, drawing similarities to Inflection AI’s Pi.
With its modern aesthetic and new functionalities, the revamped Copilot is geared towards enhancing user engagement and experience, positioning itself as an essential tool for daily information and updates. You can explore the new Copilot experience by visiting copilot.microsoft.com.
