Microsoft has rolled out a new non-security preview update (C-release) for Windows 11, identified as KB5043145. This update does not deliver the expected Windows 11 version 24H2 feature update and is applicable instead for versions 23H2 and 22H2.

Gradual Rollout

This update will be deployed gradually, so it may not be available to all users immediately.

  • [Taskbar] New! Users can now share local files directly from the search results displayed in the Search box located on the taskbar.

  • [Settings] New! The Delivery Optimization Settings page has been updated to align with the Windows 11 design. Navigate to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Delivery Optimization for more details.

  • [Windows Share] New! The search box has been removed from the Windows Share window in this update.

  • [Lock Screen] New! Media controls are now displayed in the center lower part of the lock screen while media is playing.
