Microsoft Unveils Azure Local: A New Era in Hybrid Infrastructure

During Ignite 2024, Microsoft has unveiled Azure Local, an innovative hybrid infrastructure solution that leverages Azure Arc. This platform is set to replace the existing Azure Stack HCI, enhancing the capabilities for enterprises to deploy and manage virtual machines and containers at the edge, all supported by a cloud-native HCI framework.

Seamless Transition for Existing Customers

In a significant move, Microsoft announced that all current users of Azure Stack HCI will be automatically transitioned to Azure Local at no additional cost. As part of its transition to Azure Local, Microsoft has rebranded Azure Virtual Desktop for Azure Stack HCI to Azure Virtual Desktop for Azure Local.
