The two leading publicly traded firms driving forward AI technologies are Microsoft, noted for its extensive suite of software services, and Nvidia, renowned for its AI GPU innovations. Recently, these two tech giants have unveiled collaborative plans aimed at bolstering AI-centric startups that are focused on the health and life sciences sectors.
According to a blog update from the company, the Microsoft for Startups initiative will provide qualifying startups in these fields with up to $150,000 in Azure Credits, available over a four-year span. This financial support enables these startups to leverage a variety of advanced AI large language models, including Azure OpenAI Service, Meta’s Llama, and Phi, thereby facilitating their development using cloud technology.
Additionally, the selected startups will gain access to nearly $200,000 in resources, including Microsoft 365, Visual Studio, and GitHub, along with other essential productivity tools. They will also benefit from complimentary technical support and prioritized engagement with the Pegasus program, which allows them to collaborate with Microsoft’s sales teams.
Nvidia has similarly announced its backing for startups focused on AI in healthcare via its Inception program. The company detailed:
NVIDIA Inception is set to deliver 10,000 ai.nvidia.com inference credits for running GPU-optimized AI models through NVIDIA-managed serverless APIs; preferential pricing on NVIDIA AI Enterprise, which encompasses the complete range of NVIDIA Clara healthcare and life sciences computing platforms, software, and services; early access to NVIDIA’s new healthcare solutions; and opportunities for networking with investors through the Inception VC Alliance and industry partners via the Inception Alliance for Healthcare.
Both Microsoft and Nvidia strongly suggested that this support initiative may expand in the future to encompass startups across other business and technology sectors.
