
Recent Outlook Calendar Issues and Workarounds
Microsoft has acknowledged an issue affecting Outlook Calendar, causing users with multiple calendars in Calendar view to experience blank sections in their displays. This bug has been reported in the Current Channel version 2501 (build 18429.20132).The company is actively investigating the problem to identify a resolution.
ISSUE
Users who enable multiple calendars in Calendar view may encounter blank rendered sections in certain calendars.
Affected Channels:
- Current Channel: Version 2501 (Build 18429.20132)
- Monthly Enterprise Channel: Version 2501 (Build 18429.20200)
- Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel: Version 2408 (Build 17928.20440)

Temporary Solutions for Users
For users affected by the blank calendar sections, Microsoft suggests a couple of workarounds. Scrolling vertically within the Calendar view could temporarily resolve the issue. Additionally, reducing the Zoom setting below 100% may also mitigate the rendering problem. These temporary fixes indicate a potential rendering issue but can provide some relief in the interim.
WORKAROUND
Utilizing the scrolling feature in Calendar View will eliminate the blank sections. Alternatively, adjusting the Zoom setting to less than 100% may also help.

Additional Calendar Issues
Aside from this issue, Microsoft has identified another problem where users selecting time slots for meetings may inadvertently choose incorrect options. This defect has been noted with multiple calendars open, particularly in dual monitor setups. Here’s what Microsoft reports:
ISSUE
After enabling multiple calendars in the Calendar pane, users may notice that clicking on a time slot selects the wrong option.
Observations:
- Mouse clicks may be registered 2 to 3 rows higher than the intended selection.
- This issue tends to occur when three or more calendars are active, and when utilizing a dual monitor configuration.
- Importantly, this problem does not manifest in Outlook Web App (OWA) or the new Outlook.
STATUS: INVESTIGATING

Scrolling Issues with Newsletter Emails
In addition to Calendar problems, a scrolling issue with newsletter emails in Classic Outlook has also been reported. Microsoft notes that scrolling through these emails can be unusually jumpy, sometimes skipping text or pausing unexpectedly. This issue has emerged starting from Version 2503 Build 18623.20000, primarily affecting emails created through the Newsletters feature in Outlook.
ISSUE
Scrolling tends to behave erratically when reading newsletter emails, as compared to standard emails.
STATUS: WORKAROUND
The Word Team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. For a temporary solution, users are advised to disable Advanced Typography:
- Go to File, then Options, followed by Mail, then Editor Options, and select Advanced.
- Uncheck Use Advanced Typography.
- Select OK, then confirm by selecting OK again, and restart Outlook.
