“Messy Play” – Richard Hatch from House of Villains Season 2 Discusses Camilla’s Targeting of Him and Wes
The latest episode of House of Villains season 2 premiered on October 24, 2024, concluding Richard Hatch’s stint on the show after he was unanimously voted out by his fellow participants.
Richard, a former Survivor competitor, found himself on the Hit List alongside Wes Bergmann from The Challenge and Safaree from Love & Hip Hop, due to the actions of Camilla Poindexter. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he expressed his feelings regarding his exit from the E! reality series, stating it felt “unjust.”
He further criticized Camilla for targeting him and Wes, both of whom were her allies, labeling her strategy as “chaotic.”
“I think it exhibited very poor gameplay, yet I also believe it was her most sincere and genuine attempt,”he remarked.
Richard Hatch Reflects on Camilla’s Betrayal in House of Villains Season 2
Richard’s journey in House of Villains season 2 came to a close in episode 4, titled “High Voltage Villains,”when Camilla Poindexter, his ally from the Baddies series, placed him on the Hit List.
When discussing his gameplay and the events that led to his elimination, Richard shared that participants of reality shows must learn to “move forward without regrets.”He expressed satisfaction with his performance, asserting he would change nothing about his approach.
He noted that while alternate choices were possible, he acted based on the information available to him at the time.
“And why should we waste time regretting decisions made under those circumstances? Life is simply too brief,”he stated.
Richard commented on Camilla’s strategy, clarifying that she was participating in the E! reality show for her children. He acknowledged that she was attempting to break free from the patterns established in her previous television endeavors.
“Sure, her gameplay was chaotic, but that’s part of the learning curve. She’s making progress,”he added.
He also advised that Camilla needed to adopt a bolder approach because her fear of consequences seemed to hold her back. According to Richard, she bombarded the game with too many actions at once instead of weighing the best possible strategies.
Reflecting on his unanimous vote out, Richard mentioned that had he not been on the Hit List, he along with Kandy, Jessie, and Camilla could have taken control of the game. He explained that if he had been among the safe contestants, voting to spare himself would have drawn attention to his efforts as a player. He felt relieved that his allies didn’t cast their votes against him, as they already knew the likely outcomes.
When questioned about his awareness of the potential elimination in episode 4, Richard admitted he wasn’t entirely certain but suspected he might be next. He was able to discern who was “blatantly deceitful,”which led him to believe he was in their target range.
“Their dishonesty was so painfully obvious it made the whole situation absurd,”he commented.
Richard described Safaree Samuels as “the least credible liar”and noted that Safaree seemed to have convinced himself of his own fabrications, despite Richard recognizing many of his lies as being “evident.”
