Meet the Complete Cast of “A Different Man”
Aaron Schimberg’s latest creation, A Different Man, has hit theaters, starring Marvel’s own Sebastian Stan. Following its cinema release by A24 in October, the film is set to launch on popular streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+, starting from November 5, 2024.
This psychological thriller delves deep into themes of identity and societal prejudices. It tells the story of an aspiring actor who undergoes drastic facial surgery in search of newfound opportunities, only to discover that his transformation spirals into a haunting obsession with recapturing his former self.
Schimberg, recognized for his previous works Chained for Life and Go Down Death, not only directed but also penned the screenplay for A Different Man, which boasts an impressive 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film’s ensemble cast includes talents such as Adam Pearson, Renate Reinsve, and Miles G. Jackson.
The Primary Cast of A Different Man
1) Sebastian Stan as Edward
Renowned for his role as Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Stan portrays Edward, an ambitious actor seeking a career boost through reconstructive surgery. Unfortunately, losing a pivotal role jolts Edward into a dark trajectory.
In addition to his Marvel achievements, Stan’s diverse portfolio includes films like Logan Lucky, The Martian, and I, Tonya. His performance in A Different Man earned him the Best Leading Performance award at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival.
2) Adam Pearson as Oswald
Returning to the big screen, Pearson, who previously collaborated with Schimberg on Chained for Life, plays Oswald, an actor who embodies Edward’s past self in a theatrical production. His resemblance to the pre-surgery Edward sparks an unhealthy fixation.
Notably, Pearson’s previous work in Chained for Life received a flawless score on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside his appearances on reality shows such as Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.
3) Renate Reinsve as Ingrid
Norwegian actress Reinsve, known for her role as Carolyn Polhemus in Presumed Innocent, plays Ingrid, a wannabe playwright and romantic interest of Edward. Together, they navigate the complexities of art and obsession as she writes a play about his life.
Her impressive filmography includes critically acclaimed titles such as The Worst Person in the World and Women in Oversized Men’s Shirts.
4) Miles G. Jackson as Sean
Jackson, a versatile talent known for his Broadway and television contributions, including a pivotal role in Hunters, portrays Sean in A Different Man, showcasing his dynamic range beyond the stage.
5) Billy Griffith as Ollie
Brooklyn-native Griffith, who has appeared in films like Noelle, plays Ollie in the film. His extensive credits include notable guest roles in series such as Law & Order and Blue Bloods.
6) C. Mason Wells as Carl
A notable actor and screenwriter, Wells plays the character Carl in the film. His previous work, LOL, garnered critical praise, matching his talents in Between the Temples, nominated for a 2024 Gotham Award.
