MediaTek wins with Dimensity 9000+

Although Qualcomm managed to dethrone itself with the recent introduction of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Taiwanese manufacturer did not want to be left out in this case. And the thing is, continuing its commitment to its latest chipset family, MediaTek has just announced the new Dimensity 9000+, which offers a marked improvement over its predecessor, hitting 3.2GHz.

According to the company itself, these processors will provide “more than 5% increase in CPU performance and more than 10% increase in GPU performance” due to the integration of ARM’s V9 CPU architecture and a quad-core processor. a nanometer manufacturing process with an Octa-Core configuration that will include a 3.2GHz Cortex X2 core, three 2.85GHz Cortex-A710 cores, and four efficiency-focused Cortex-A510 cores; accompanied in this case by the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.

Thus, this chip will provide compatibility with LPDDR5x memory at speeds up to 7500 Mbps (20% more efficient than LPDDR5), with eight megabytes of L3 cache and six megabytes of system cache. In addition, other innovations have been implemented, such as the presence of APU 5.0, an artificial intelligence engine that has also become more efficient and powerful.

However, the rest of the structure and features of the Dimensity 9000+ will remain the same as the current model, with the MediaTek Imagiq 790 ISP supporting 320-megapixel, 18-bit HDR recording and 4K HDR recording noise reduction; as well as a 5G 3GPP version 16 modem with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connections and MiraVision 790; and the ability to support WQHD+ resolution panels at 144Hz or FullHD+ resolutions up to 180Hz.

While at the moment MediaTek does not want to give an exact date when and in which devices we can expect its new chip to appear, we already know that the Dimensity 9000+ will appear later this year, so they will probably be implemented in the first high-end phones of next year. .
